Dodge Neon 95-05 Random Misfire Repair

here is a video with details to fix your random misfire on your dodge neon or any other car with this spark plug tube design. common issues are the valve cover gasket leaks into the tubes. which causes the car to misfire if the oil builds up enough, oil can conduct electricity.

Review Equus - Triple Gauge Kit Part # 8200 Dodge Neon and Mustang GT

i have been using this

Equus - Triple Gauge Kit

Part # 8200

the Gauges look good and work correctly, since i dont have the funds to have Auto-meter gauges these work just fine. i was a bit skeptical at 1st when i installed them in my 1987 Mustang GT Convertible. i noticed that the back glow was decent for night time driving, the gauges are accurate. when it came down to my 1998 Dodge Neon the temp gauge was failing in the dash and yes i know i could have resoldered the connection on the back of the board. i like mechanical gauges vs electronic, with mechanical there is little chance that the gauges wont fail. here are some vids of what they look like installed.

1974 Ford Mustang II Rag Joint Repair

today we tackeled the rag joint repair i read on a few forums that u can use part number 31000 in the help at orielys or autozone as a replacement for the plastic joint it just required removing the one side of the steering rack it takes a 9/16 socket and wrench, what we did was to remove the steering column from the car which was alot easier, then removing the shoulder bolt from the joint. all in total the time was about 3hrs to remove and install.

Subaru Legacy lower Ball joint Removal and Install

recently i had to perform a brake job on my 1999 subaru legacy station wagon. i noticed a popping noise in the front driver side when turning left. so i started checking n i found the lower ball joint was pretty much destroyed. the local part store had one for 23.99. reading online i found the easiest way to remove and install the lower ball joint, get a mini 5 pound sledge hammer, a 14mm to 19mm sockets and wrenches, one you have removed the steering knuckle/hub smack the lower control arm. until the ball joint drops out of the knuckle assembly. it took me about 45 mins to remove n 30 to reinstall.

1987 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Upper Intake Removal

this is a simple job on the fox body mustangs with fuel injection. shouldnt take longer then 45mins to have the upper intake off, i know there are people that could perform this quicker but this was my 1st time removing an upper intake on a mustang.

tools needed
13mm socket and wrench 1/4 or 3/8th drive with 6 in extentions
13mm deep socket 1/4 or 3/8th drive
10mm socket 1/4 or 3/8th drive
flat head screw driver
torx bit driver set

total amount of bolts n nuts
4 intake bolts
2 nuts that hold the bracket at either end for the intake
2 10mm bolts for the throttle bracket

i origanally started this becuse i wanted to replace some vacuum lines and replace the valve cover gaskets because of age and leakage. i noticed that when i tipped the upper intake down crud came out of it so i am going to flush the upper intake the best i can. ill post a video of the process about replacing the valve cover gaskets also.

1995-1999 Dodge Neon Cold Air Intake

hi

this is a homemade Cold Air Intake the parts i used were from a local wreaking yard which only cost me about 7 for the intake tube's, 19.99 for the Air Filter, 2 for the hose to relocate the breather for the engine to its new location. here is the parts list i used

Chrysler New Yorker 3.0ltr J Pipe (which does connect to the throttle body nicely)
1995 Neon intake tube which i cut the end off with the breather attachment.
Auto Store cone Air Filter

Total time to complete was less then 40 mins i did have to modify the battery box slightly for clearance which wasnt much. basically for 30.00 or so you can make your own intake.

1987 Ford Mustang GT Convertible 5.0 Instrument Cluster Upgrade

this idea i have had in my head for sometime it was to mod my mustangs dash to use mechanical gauges instead of the stock electric gauges, last year i bought the white face dash kit and installed that but i grew tired of only the speedo working and the tach n the oil pressure gauge that kinda worked. the old cluster was about to give up. so instead of buying another one costing me around 100 or so i decided to upgrade my cluster. well i went to my local part store and bought the 2in white face triple pack of gauges then i bought the matching fuel gauge also. i also bought a automotive electric kit that had an assortment of butt connectors and scotch blocks. it also had tape and wire strippers and a test light. the gauges and the kit cost me 100.00 altogether. this process to me roughly 2 days from start to finish i still have 2 minor things to complete but at this time the instrument cluster is installed. if you are thinking about performing this upgrade make sure to have the correct wiring diagram for your car or truck and have the knowledge to understand the diagram also.  only problem i ran into was i didnt hook up the signal wire to tell the voltage regulator to turn on and come to find out that was the light green with a red stripe wire in the dash wiring that had to have a resistor in place so that it can turn on the charging system, i used a blub as the resistor. here are the videos i hope you enjoy and get ideas

1995 Cadillac De ville 4.9 Signs of a bad water pump

my friend brought this car to me it had a high idle issue but i repaired it. the idle control solenoid had came unplugged.  while the car was running i noticed a loud growling noise with a rattle. i used the old school trick i found a wood dowel or even a long screw driver will work. i started listening to the alternator, then i started listening to the idler and heard the bearings rattling there, on the tension-er pulley i found a light bearing noise, as i started listening to the water pump thats when i heard 90% of the rattle and grinding. this will be a fun job for me to do. ill post other video's of my progress.
