Signs of an Oil Pump Failure

as you may have noticed you have lost oil pressure in your engine the gauge suddenly drops to zero and you hear nasty noises come from the engine. if you have a light on your dash for Oil it is red with a symbol of a oil can. if you are driving along and you suddenly lose oil pressure pull over safely to the side of the road and turn off your engine, let it sit for a moment and if possible pop your hood. also check your oil after 5 mins if its low and you have oil on you throw a qt or two in the engine or until its within the full mark. start it back up again n listen to the engine if you hear clicking/tapping from the top end of the engine n the light is still on TURN OFF YOUR ENGINE. if you hear a KNOCKING noise then TURN OFF YOUR ENGINE, depending on mileage and or overall care of your engine. you may have had an oil pump failure. if you had your oil changed lately by you or by a shop then you might want to see if there is a puddle of oil underneath your vehicle. at this time. if you can see the oil streaming out of the bottom of your engine on to the ground then either you had a loose oil filter or the drain plug wasn't tighten up properly.  here are two videos below hope this helps

Signs of a Failed Freeze Plug

this is a 1998 Dodge Durango 5.2 magnum engine. the freeze plug was failing for sometime, it had a slow leak at 1st but i could never spot it. until last may when i started my durango up n smelt heavy anti freeze. i looked underneath the durango n spotted it coming out of the bell housing on the transmission. and this is what i found. if you start to notice that your car or truck or van is losing coolant overtime , if you notices wetness around the block, if you can smell anti freeze while the engine is running, if you notice there is a small spot of antifreeze underneath your car or truck or van its best to check it out.

Predator Engine 6.5Hp Harbor Freight engine

Predator Engine 6.5Hp harbor Freight engine. recently purchased this engine at harbor freight for 132.00 out the door didn't seem like a bad deal. i have gone thru the break in process as they state. 3 hours no faster then 1/3 throttle i have also disconnected the oil pressure kill switch because this engine is on my kids go kart which they found out really quick that it shuts off once they take a hard corner. this engine starts on the 1st pull with the choke on. runs really well for being a Honda GX 200 clone. ill post more videos n a review after my kids have had it for a while n we will see how it stands up.

Briggs & Stratton Flat Head 5Hp Powered Go kart

i recently picked this engine up from a friend i knew it ran ok but i didnt expect to have so many problems with it at this time it will run but it cuts out i thought i had the problem fixed. i recently found that the pulsa jet carburetor was the problem i have ordered a rebuild kit for that engine. here are some videos of what i have done so far.

Dodge Durango 5.2 V8 Engine Removal

in this next week in my free time that i have i will be removing the engine from my dodge durango with the 5.2 V8, the engine being removed had a freeze plug failure on the back of the block behind the flex plate. so instead of just replacing the freeze plugs i decided last year to purchase a low mileage wreaking yard engine for it, in part of the mileage on the old engine is around 244k and i was starting to have cylinder head problems also on these magum engines they are prone to failure right around were the valves seat are prone to cracking over time. i did run a compression test to confirm that my readings were lower on the passenger side head. i will be taking videos of my progress through out the whole process i will offer the best tips i can to best help you with what i can. please forgive the short videos i dont have a full camera set up i just use my HTC One M9 as my video camera it doesnt do too bad at least i hope it doesnt..lol here are some videos of my current progress
